在 Englewood Library 上英文課已經一年了, 負責 ESL 課的老師 請我寫一篇我來美國的原因與心得, 這篇文章被刊登在 十一月份的 Literacy Volunteers Englewood Library Student Newsletter 內容如下:
The Sacrifice of Life
I come from Taiwan. It is a
tropical island in East Asia, also known as “Formosa”. I accompanied my children to America to take
care of their daily life and support them in their studies. It has always been
their goal to study in America.
They are attending high school and will apply to American College
in the future. They are attracted by the new challenges and the opportunities
to experience different cultures and further broaden their horizons.
I am pleased to
have the opportunity to participate in the Englewood Public Library ESL class.
My goal is to improve my communication in the English language. I especially
thank my one on one tutor Ms. Jeanette Anari and group class tutor Ms. Donna
Campos, because they are so enthusiastic to teach. It has been two years since
I arrived in the USA.
I am getting more at ease speaking English.
Thanks to modern
technology, my children and I communicate with our family members in Taiwan.
Endured
sacrifices, short term tasks, will become more smooth and the final outcome of
sacrifice is valuable.
